Kia ora parents, caregivers and whānau,
The announcement this afternoon from the Prime Minister confirmed that we will continue in Covid-19 Alert Level 4 Lockdown until midnight on Tuesday 31st August. Thereafter we will move to Alert Level 3 where school will remain closed to students except where “parents are required to work and there is no other option available.” Further guidance for health and education is expected to be given by the government on Monday.
Based on the information previously provided by our parents, Karāpiro School will remain closed and we will continue to engage in emergency remote learning with our students. Our teachers and support staff have been in close communication with our families over the course of the week. Thank you for using these communication channels to let us know what is working well for your children. We have taken heart from your positive feedback and hearing families echo our view that the wellbeing of our students, families and staff is our top priority at this time.
Please get in touch with us if your contact details need to be updated or if your home / work situation has changed. Karāpiro School Staff will be meeting via Zoom again on Monday to finalise our planning and organisation for the week ahead – we hope you enjoy the Staff pic below
